What is the deadliest hurricane in the time period?

The Galveston Hurricane of 1900 is the deadliest hurricane between 1900 and 2010. It was a catogory 4 hurricane according to the scale. It is to this very day the deadliest natural disaster to ever hit the United States. It killed an estimated 6000 to 12000 individuals. Only about 8000 people were actually reported though. By the time it hit land the winds were already 315 miles per hour. It is sometimes referred to as the great flood of galveston.
